Jamie grew up on the beach in a coastal region of New Zealand, spending slow summer days watching the tide come in. Formative years spent in tune with nature instilled a desire to protect the natural world and the people in it.

Her love of fashion led her to study the craft of shoemaking at London College of Fashion before settling in Melbourne. Her signature style of modern feminine minimalism was immediately recognised and revered, and she enjoyed great success working for Australia’s favourite brands. But through this work her eyes were opened to the dark side of fashion, which did not reflect her appreciation for the natural world and for the craftspeople who make our clothes. And so Nelson Made was born, a brand built on a foundation of transparency, sustainability and ethical manufacturing. 

At NM we do things differently. We challenge the rampant consumerism of fast fashion and redefine value, handcrafting our sandals in small quantities in a slow and respectful way. We create beautiful pieces to be cherished and in your wardrobe forever, made with minimised impacts and part of a new, more sustainable future of fashion.
